As a writer, it amazes me as to how the lyrics of a song come to be. There are times when I set out to write about a specific idea or theme, and times when the words just start to fall in place. There are times when I spend days, weeks, months, even years shaping a lyric, and there are times that within a matter of hours, verse, chorus, and bridge begin to breath on there own. Sometimes, the song idea is contrived, and sometimes it’s a true story that has finally been given the opportunity to witness about itself. Sometimes the song is a fun, lighthearted, “ear-candy” sort of thing, and sometimes the lyric is grounded in so much hurt that it is nearly beyond words.

“Tears”, it’s on my player.

Yeah, sometimes…
