When asked, “Where do you see yourself in five years?”, my answer is simple- husband to my wife, father to my kids, and songwriter.
I have been blessed with the love of a precious family, a circle of incredible friends, and the ability to look around me every day and set to words and music some of the things I see and hear. There are the makings of good stories, good songs all around me. My job as the “story teller” is to handle them all with the care, and respect that they deserve.
Now mind you, care and respect doesn’t mean that a body can’t have some fun once in a while with a specific song. I think the world would be a better place if we laughed a little more, and cried a little less. Regardless of the subject matter though, the song deserves the best that I can give it. Every time I set out to write a song, whether it is by myself, or with one of my incredible co-writers, my aim is always to write the best song I can.
God, family, country, I try to keep the balance of my life in that order. There are times when I succeed, and times when I fail miserably. Through it all though, there is always another story waiting to be told.
